Priorities
Protect Academic Excellence
Lexington One's students, teachers, and schools have a strong record of achievement in academics, fine arts, and athletics. We must protect the learning environments that made that excellence possible and develop new ways to accelerate learning for all students.
My Goal
Keep the focus on student achievement, readiness, and strong instruction, supporting rigorous academics, career pathways, and early intervention to continuously improve student outcomes.
Manage Growth Responsibly
Our schools are the reason many families move here. They're one of the main reasons that my wife and I chose Lexington as the community to raise our family in. It's important to protect the educational environment that has fostered our community's growth and accept that further growth will be inevitable because of the District's success. We also must understand that unmanaged growth can strain classrooms, staffing, transportation, and facilities.
My Goal
Work with county and municipal leaders on development impacts and ensure the district continues to plan facilities and adjust attendance lines, staffing, and transportation before problems become crises. Balance responsible investment with taxpayer stewardship.
Support Teachers, Staff, and School Leaders
Great schools depend on great people. I would listen to teachers, staff, and administrators to understand their goals and challenges, then use the board's governance role to establish clear priorities, review policies, and allocate resources that reduce unnecessary burdens and support recruitment, retention, safety, and effective classrooms.
My Goal
District leaders should be empowered and held accountable for building positive, supportive cultures in which employees and students can thrive, so that Lexington One continues as an "Employer of Choice" in the midlands of South Carolina.
